What is an Acne Cream?

by Agust Hauksson

Acne is a disorder that causes outbreaks of skin lesions that are usually called pimples. It is usually caused by the oil glands making too much sebum, which is an oily substance that can lead to clog up pores. It is also caused by the quick production of bacteria.

Acne is most commonly found on the face, neck, back and chest. It is the most common skin disease and is not a serious health threat. More severe acne can lead to permanent scarring. There are some acne creams that can help this problem and the more severe cases need to be treated with creams that are more powerful and medicines.

There are many different causes for acne. Many people get them early in life when they are going through puberty. The increase in the hormones will cause the glands to get larger and this will allow them to make more sebum causing acne. This type may be helped along with the right acne creams. When a younger person has an acne problem, it may be necessary for the acne creams to be used often and applied more than twice a day.

Many pregnant women will find that they have an acne problem occurring as well. Most of the time using acne creams will take care of the problems and help the acne clear up. These creams are safe for them to use unless otherwise directed by their doctor. There are also women that are on birth control that will have to deal with the ordeal of having pimples and using acne creams to help with them.

There are also certain medications that will bring on acne. Some of these medicines are used to treat epilepsy and some forms of depression. Another cause of pimples is the use of make up. There are many women that use a lot of different types of make up on their face and neck. These items can eventually clog up pores if they are not correctly removed each night with cleaners.

There are a lot of people that have to use acne creams because acne runs in their family history. They will use these creams because they will find that no matter what they do or how well they clean their body and face, they still end up with acne. The creams will help to keep the problem under control and make the pimples less noticeable.

There are many causes of acne and there are also many treatments to consider as well. The acne creams are going to help most of the acne problems that are dealt with while others may have a harder time of getting these annoying pimples to disappear. There are two forms of acne ingredients to choose from when looking for the right cream.

Benzoyl peroxide will work well to reduce oil made by the glands. This ingredient can be found in many different acne creams and help to clear up the problems that many people face. Another great ingredient is Resorcinol, salicylic acid and sulfur will help to break down pimples, whiteheads and blackheads.
